Storytelling

How do we see the world?

To start with, I think it’s important to wonder if we are aware enough of the fact that our culture (and much more) influences our view of the world. To me, this is the starting point of intercultural communication.

Then we could ask ourselves how we see the other.
What it is that we are afraid of in the other (religion)? Is it possible to pin down the questions that lie behind the uncertainties of the different other? Could we then try look for answers and above all for stories? Or is this line of thinking too simple and too naive?

Which images do we make of the world? And which boundaries do we put around those images (which are our references, I suppose)? If you think of yourself, the other and the world, if you had to draw it, where would you put yourself in relation to the other and to the world?
I think we too often see ourselves independant of the world and people around us and draw boundaries in a way that might makes us feel safe, but which limits us to interact and go beyond the fear.
